Terms of Service - Choretastic!

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Choretastic!, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the application. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children's use of the app.

Description of Service

Choretastic! provides a family management platform that enables parents to:

Create and assign chores to children with screen time rewards.
Monitor and manage children's screen time using Apple's Screen Time API.
Track children's location with geofencing and safety alerts.
Manage a points-based reward system and allowances.
Collaborate with other parents or guardians within a family group.

The service is currently available on iOS devices only.

User Accounts

To use Choretastic!, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials.
Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account. Child accounts are created and managed by parents within the app.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Choretastic! only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

Use the service to harm, harass, or exploit others.
Upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
Interfere with the proper functioning of the app or its infrastructure.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app.
Use the app to track or monitor anyone without proper legal authority.

Subscriptions and Payments

Choretastic! offers a 7-day free trial followed by a paid subscription ($5.99/month or $49.99/year). Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's payment terms and conditions. Subscription details:

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

Apple License Agreement

Use of this app is subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). By downloading or using Choretastic!, you agree to the terms of the Apple Standard EULA.

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Choretastic!, including but not limited to the software, design, text, graphics, and logos, are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Choretastic! is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Screen time enforcement will be 100% accurate on all devices.
Location tracking will be precise at all times.

We are not a substitute for active parental supervision. Parents remain responsible for their children's safety and wellbeing.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service in the past twelve months.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination:

Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Any active subscriptions should be cancelled through the App Store.
Linked child devices will be automatically unlinked.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app. Your continued use of Choretastic! after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
